KreyNet Services
KreyNet uses it’s own services. They are unique, different from any other services you might be familiar with.
Account
In order to use any services, you will need to login into the services. Talk to our services by opening a private chat with K
.
You can register an account by sending the command register
, or login
into an existing account.
Use /msg k help
for more detailled help
Do note that KreyNet uses the concept of a handle: this is an username that identifies you, but we do not have any form of nickname registration. The handle does not need to be equal to your nickname.
Features
With a kreynet account you can do the following things
- manage channels:
K
can provide you with user management to manage channel permissions - hidden hostname: an account can be used to hide your hostname by replacing it with handle.users.krey.net
Note that a lot of options are only possible if you have upgraded your account to an authorized account. This is very easy to do: just
send the command authorize
and K
will guide you through the process
Host hiding
You can hide your ip address so nobody can see it. Use K’s HIDEHOST
command to change your hostname. Alternatively, using AUTOHIDEHOST
you
can enable this so it automatically hides each time you join the network
It doesn’t make sense to hide your host if you already joined any channels, because then people already saw your IP address. Therefore
K
will not allow you to change your host unless you did not yet join any channel.
Tips and tricks
- This site only gives you a short introduction. Full help texts are available under the help menu
- There is a
SHOWCOMMANDS
command that shows all possible commands for K - If you must supply the handle of an user in a command, you can always substitute that with !nickname, K will replace this with the handle if the nick is online and logged in at that time
