November 9, 2007 Finally, we've upgraded K on KreyNet. The new version of K is more advanced, and has tons of little improvements. Especially the help and the error messages have greatly been improved. There are a few new features such as: Any channel can be set logged in only or not (/msg k help loginrequired) Channels can have a description (/msg k help description) You can decide whether only users on the channel list (old behavior) or everybody is able to see the list with users (/msg k help openlisting) There is a new and easy'er way to change the owner of a channel (/msg k help setowner) Supervoice is now available for everyone (/msg K help supervoice) A channel can be in stealth mode (/msg k help stealth) And there are a few features not yet activated which will be made available later on! One big change however is the regular user accounts. There are now 2 levels: regular users and authorized users. To get authorized do /msg K authorize for more information. Currently you need to be an authorized user in order to do any of the following things: Register a channel Becoming the channel owner by SETOWNER Becoming the channel owner when the original owner of the channel expires In any case it's always usefull to get Authorized because in the future, there will be new features that require this authorized level. There will be ofcourse problems with this new release, especially because this is a rather large code change: the backend has been completly rewritten to be able to work with the new ircd's we will switch to soon.
