You can always use
irc.krey.net to connect to our network. This will connect you to a random
KreyNet-server. If you want to connect to a random Belgian Server, use
irc.be.krey.net. If you want to connect to a random Dutch Server, use
irc.nl.krey.net. For a more detailed list of our servers, click here.
You probably want to
know what happened to our NickServ. That's easy: we don't have a NickServ.
We at KreyNet believe nicknames are free and can not be owned. We still
did not find any good arguments to run NickServ. A nickname is free to
choose. If it is available, take it. If not, ... too bad.
NOTE: There
are some nicknames which are blocked. Those are services nicknames and nicknames
we will need in our future progress. It is also forbidden to change your nick
into that of a IRCoperator. You will be asked to change this. If you deny
this request, a kill _WILL_ follow.
When the channel is registered with K, you can just use K for getting ops. When you did not register the channel, the channel is treated like any other regular irc
channel on any network with no irc services. This means, that the only way to get ops, is by letting everybody leave the channel, the first one that joins will get ops.
Do NOT ask anyone of the KreyNet staff to help you with this, we will not interfere with channel matters. And please register your channel asap if you would like to maintain ops!
Do NOT come to #services or #opers !!!!
Use the regular K commands to regain ops. try /msg K help to see which commands are available, or visit #irchelp for more help.
All abuse should be mailed to abuse@krey.net.
Please note that a good abuse mail contains the following details:
- A description of what happened
- Enough information to identify the nessesary users
- logfiles. Do note that logfiles should be readeable, we are not going to read trough 5 megabyte sized logfiles to find 1 sentence so make sure we can do anything with it
If needed, we will ask you for the full logs
What we do NOT consider abuse (and therefor will be ignored):
- a channel-kick
- a channel-ban
- Anything that happens on one channel
Allow us to explain: Every channel is maintained by the creators of the channel.
What we DO consider abuse:
- Everything illegal, such as, but not limited to, illegal software, child pornography
- excessive spamming (unsolicited messages of any kind)
- rascism
NOTE: if you feel an URGE to contact somebody of the abuse-team, you can
always join #services (command /join #services). All opped (@) and
voiced (+) people in that chan are members of the KreyNet-abuse team.
If you are banned from a server, you are klined. The reason for this ban
and the nick from the oper who banned you, are behind the kline.
Normally, no action can be taken against this. An operator is allowed to
refuse connection to his server. However, you can mail the operator and/or
his admin to ask clarification. They are NOT obliged to answer you.
If you are banned from our network, you are glined. You can see this by the [G] symbol in the reason. The reason for this
ban and the nick from the oper who banned you, are also visible when you try to connect.
If you do not agree with your global ban on the KreyNet-network, you can mail
to abuse@krey.net.
You have to mention these things:
- Person who Glined you
- Reason why he glined you
- The reasons why this gline should be removed
- Your emailadress
- Your nick on the moment of the G-line
- Your host on the moment of the G-line
Our abuse team will decide or the G-line stays or not. You will be able to
follow the discusions.
DO NOTE: using our network is a privilege, not a right. We are allowed to dissalow access for any reason. You cannot *demand* access.
Please contact Egg (irc operator) online.
